Too many bright colours, it makes it look very weird.

I can't understand why you choose these colors... Cry

Did you make this from scratch? The building positions are different and weird...
If you're gonna make a conversion, actually convert it...

Doesn't look to be to scale, at all.

The map is not a port over, made from scratch. Would of liked to have the same textures but they are a bit limited with the new mod tools not having the old textures. The map is scaled for Cod4 not Cod2 game play.

no mini map? The map looks good to me but without a mini map, I can't use it on my server... grrr

I say to remake it, and do a port. And just edit the textures and etc... To fit for CoD4. Other people done it...
Make it more grimey and modern looking. Not so colorful... And not WW2ish.

In my view, Carentan is the best cod map ever made as it is so good in all game types, with any number of players. It is a brave modder who puts up his work to be compared to the original and for that you should be commended. I think it plays very well, apart from the missing piano! Yes the colours are a bit naff but i'm personally more into game play than admiring the view!

Given that the alternative is playing stock maps for ever. All map writers should be encouraged and thanked by the community for their output good or bad....

If there is a mini map, I'll download it and test it out... Two Thumbs Up!

Ok, tested the map, and yes, there is a very nice Mini Map in the Map, sorry about that, I was going off the Screenie. Here are some things that I didn't like about the map.

1. I think you should add shutters to the already open windows in the buildings, like the shutters have been pushed open or half open to look out from.

2. Maybe use more grasses in the open areas, instead of block patches, to give snipers more cover from the grasslands, also, think about adding more tree cover to those grassy areas for sun shadows on the ground, to create darker areas.

3. I think the color could be a problem on the buildings, but it really doesn't bother me that much. I like that you added extra buildings to the map that you can go in that weren't in the original. The map is obviously larger than the original.

4. MESSAGE TO ALL MAPPERS ---> Please try to add the scripting to allow all custom maps the ability for snipers to wear their ghillie suits when choosing the sniper. I think it is an important feature that is lost for these new custom maps.

This map works with AWE 4 - 1.2

I think you did a great job on mapping this map compared to the original Carentan map. Just to have the ability to map is a luxury, so I'm grateful to all mappers giving us good maps to play on besides the stock maps. Good work guys.

Thanks for your input and suggestions.Will do on the next map. Glad the map plays the mods. 1st cod 4 map with the new tools. Maybe the next patch will have the fix also for the mod tools.

The ground,tree and grass textures look great. However I suggest changing the roof and building textures a bit. Those pink roofs and green buildings have to go Also get rid of that WII car.
