Here's the third and final piece of documentation released by DeekCiti for today. This one's of great use to any server admin, in my opinion. For someone just getting started or for someone needing more organization. Believe it or not, its much easier to find settings when you know where to look. Sometimes you just can't find the Time to Organize it Yourself. I've included the normal settings most Server.cfg's use. But I've added some Extra things as well. had hoped i would fined detailed howto's on setting up a server but the config did explain some stuff, have a server box that i run a couple of 2k4 and ut99 servers on, am looking to add a CoD2 server, if'n i can get more details on how to do that. is there anyone here who could direct me to some good tuts?

ok noob question, how do server.cfg work, I downloaded and unzipped the file to my main foler but nothing happend when i started my own server. All I really want to do is set up a map rotation for me and my friends

You have to call the Server.cfg file from a New shortcut of the Multiplayer game. You can call the file by editing the "Properties" of that shortcut by right clicking it. Edit the Target line after the Quotes.

Here is an example of what your shortcut command line could read like.

The +set fs_game FOLDER means that your going to tell it to look in a certain folder to find your server files. Some people run AWE, or MERCILESS mods, this is where you would tell it to go into the MODS folder. You can name it what you want, but it has to be in your games folder, the path that is in quotes before all this information. So basically if your not running a mod, make a folder in your games folders, call it what you want and put that in the place of FOLDER. So if I wanted to call this folder with my server.cfg file and all my mods in it "Piglet" then here is the example I would use...

Example path: C stick out tongue

rogram FilesActivisionCall of Duty 2Piglet
Example: +set fs_game Piglet

Now it would know where to go to find your Server.cfg
