	Readme File: This file will enable the Auto Download feature for COD. If you enter a server which is running a custom map or having a custom mod, COD will automatically start downloading those files to your computer if Auto Download is enabled. Erm, cl_allowdownload 1 lets you download the files from a server.

when d/l mod's, will this d/l pk3's that end up getting me booted from "pure" servers?

thats happend to me before. i play on one server that i downloaded mods from, i go to another, and it says its an un-pure pk3 file.

i have that problem 2 its very anoying.
i downloaded a cool realism skin pack and it says unpure Cry

Dont know how much I trust a file that comes as an executable, and all it can possibly do is enter a cvar. Like buddy above me said, just open the console (~ key) and type /cl_allowdownload 1 - This is a way ppl would go about sneaking a backdoor trojan, or some other malicious file onto my pc. I would suggest making a cfg that can be put in a zip file. That way we can see that its cool.

Sry for being paranoid, but there are too many evil ppl in the world who get off on screwing up other ppl's stuff for no apparent reason.

This file does not contain any virus. this file is so small that cant have any kind of viruses or anykind of hack.

Some servers dont allow any modifications to files, so when you trun on the allow auto download feature, they'll kick you becuase you've modified a stock file.

Or, when you have an extra .pk3 file in you main folder you'll be kicked again in SOME servers which dont allow any custom maps, weapons, or etc.

The reason of enableing auto download is to download custom mods. so dont go to pure severs if you want to be able to download custom stuffs. Or read below for another choice:

I just made another autodownlaod v 2.0 which you can actually enable or disable autodownload feature. SO you can disable and enable it when you are connecting to different servers.

I just submited the file, so it takes a while to be posted but here is the read me file:

This file is AutoDownloader version 2.0.
Since some servers do not support modificatiton to stock files, i addes some options to this file, so you can actually disable or enable autodownload feature. So you wont be kicked from some servers that dont allow any modifications to the files.
Meanwhile you can turn back the autodownload feature by running this file again when you're planning to connect to a server which is running a custom mod or running any custom map.

Simply put this file in your COD main folder and run it. Just make sure you have the file “config_mp.cfg” in your main folder, as it is supposed to be.
When you run the file you see to buttons. If autodownload is disabled, you can only click on the enable button. if autodownlaod is already enabled, you can only disable it.
This is an easy way to connect to all servers with custom mods, maps, and etc while having control of your Stock files.

Yes, if you have custom files in your main folder you cannot connect to pure servers anymore. simply cut and past, or delete, those custom .pk3 files when connecting to pure servers.

if you delete custom files, COD will download them again when connection to those server that have custom stuffs.

Sorry to say this, but I think this is the worst thing to come out yet. I think the idea's genius, thing is, my guy made the same thing awhile back, so we could have PRM w/ some custom textures to use, so those w/o the mod can come on. But I wouldn't let him release cause it's not possible to turn it back on via the server. It is, but it doesn't always work.

In the end, if a player goes to a server w/ this mod, gets the stuff, even if they take it out, they cant connect to a pure server, cause your allow dl's is still turned on, and the 2 million n00bs in this world won't know whats going on, or wtf to do, and will eventually get tired of it and leave.

Great mod, I just don't think it's the thing to do right now...

Whew. Thats a relief. Think Id just make a cfg file and stay on the safe side though.

You know what would be nice, like the find a friend file, its actually integrated into the game. With the 'Find A Friend' file, a new tab is above Refresh. Maybe your allowdownload file that will add something like that right in the game.

Impress me. Your on the right track, but an exe that basically does the same job as any old cfg....
