Description:
Here we have a UO version of the great single player mod Beyond the Call of Duty - United we Stand!! It is a mod for the Call of Duty - United Offensive Single Player only. It's built with parts from the Beyond the Call of Duty mod, available for Call of Duty Single Player. Please check the read me for info and leave some feedback on what you think

Requirements:
Call of Duty v. 1.5 patch
Installation:
1. Unzip the user_no_music.pk3, user_gore.pk3 and user_BtCoD-UwS.pk3 to a folder of your choosing in the Call of Duty main directory (like c:\games\CoD\BtCoD-UwS\), make a copy of the desctop icon and add the target line +set fs_game *your folder* (c:\games\CoD +set fs_game BtCoD-UwS) to it.
OR
2. Unzip the user_no_music.pk3, user_skins.pk3 and user_BtCoD-UwS.pk3 to your Call of Duty /UO folder (c:\games\CoD\UO\) and run the game.
user_BtCoD: The mod files are in this one.
user_no_music: Disables the music.
user_gore: The blood splatter effects.

What is it?
This is a mod for the Call of Duty - United Offensive Single Player only.

1.1 Features:
-Fixed gore effects and they're optional now.
-Very small changes here and there.
=====================================================================

1.0 Features:
-New sound effects for weapons.
-New cocking and reload sound effects for bolt action rifles.
-Grenades can be cooked by holding down the mouse button.
-HE grenades have a 50% smaller damage area than the frag grenades.
-RGD-33 grenades have a choise between fragmentation and high explosive (see http://labyrinth.codfiles.com for more info)
-Modified some weapon names to be more accurate.
-MG42, M1919A6, M2, SG43 and other machine guns eject shells.
-Shells fly out of the weapons more realisticly.
-New muzzle flashes and smoke for all weapons.
-New muzzle flashes and smoke for tanks and cannons.
-Since the FG42 looks like the FG42 version 2, it also acts like one now (ROF down to 600).
-HUD stripped down to basic health gauge and ammo counter.
-Crosshairs only on fixed guns that have no iron sights to aim through.
-No more names and ranks on the screen (some names may stay, still working on it).
-No more failed missions due to friendly fire.
-Player gets only 4 grenades at the start of a map.
-Only MG's have tracers.
-Bolt action rifles that are loaded with stripper clips can no longer be reloaded until there is room for 5 new rounds in the magazine.
-Automatic weapons that fire from a closed bolt get +1 round more when reloading partial magazine (the one round in the chamber).
-Ability to mute all the music from the game. See installation for more info.
-New/modified bullet impact effects.
-New gore effects.
-Damages modified:
*Rifles, support weapons and machine guns kill a person with 1 shot.
*Stg. 44 and M1A1 Carbine kill a person with 1-2 shots.
*Pistols and SMGs kill a person with 1-3 shots.
*Melee damage based on the size of the weapon.
-Weapons zoom function modified:
*Pistols, SMG's, Stg. 44, support weapons and Anti-Tank weapons have only little or no zoom.
*M1A1 Carbine has little more zoom.
*Rifles have even more zoom.
*Select fire weapons (Thompson, Stg. 44, Bar etc.) get a zoom bonus on semi-/slow-auto.
-Loadouts modified:
*Thompson, Sten, MP40, BAR and FG42 have 10 extra clips.
*Bolt action rifles have 22 5-round stripper clips.
*M1A1 Carbine and M1 Garand have 15 extra clips.
*SVT-40 and Kar43 have 12 extra clips.
*Stg. 44 and Bren Mk. 3 have 8 extra clips.
*MG34 has 5 extra drums.
*DP28 has 4 extra drums.
*Pistols have 4 extra clips.
*PPSh-41 has 3 extra drums.
*M1919A6 has 2 extra 150rnd. belts.
-Rate of Fire modified:
*Sten's ROF redused to 500-450rpm.
*M1919A6 ROF redused to 550-500rpm.
*MG34 ROF redused to 900rpm.
*DP28, FG42 and SG43 ROF redused 600rpm.
*M2 ROF redused to 600-500rpm. (higher for B17 M2s)
-New ammo pick ups:
*Minimum: 2 magazines (2 stripper clips for bolt rifles).
*Maximum: 4 magazines (4 stripper clips for bolt rifles).
*Weapons with drum magazines and machine guns pick ups may vary.
-More correct zooms on scopes:
*2.5x M73B1 scope for Springfiel M1903A3
*3.5x PU scope for Mosin-Nagant 1891/30 Sniper
*4x ZF43 scope for Kar98k Sniper
*1.5x ZF41 scope for FG42

i've found that i have to remove the pk3 files for BTCoD from my MAIN folder. And then put in these pk3 files for UWS inside the UO folder.
For some reason, the "United we Stand" mod doesn't work if the original BTCOD is installed in it's main folder. Dunno why... lol.. but it works this way!
Any ideas?
Still rate these two mods 10/10 !!!!!!!!!! |

striderdm1: Well, it's just your own stupidy, cuz it stands in the readme "Unzip the user_no_music.pk3, user_skins.pk3 and user_BtCoD-UwS.pk3 to your Call of Duty /UO folder (c:gamesCoDUO)" UO, not MAIN.
veritek: The mod has the crosshair line removed from the weapon files, so the only way to get them back is by editing evey one of them.
Do people realy find it that hard to use the guns with out the crosshair? I just line the enemy in the middle of the screen and pull the trigger. If I'm in a hurry. Other times I just aim, like in real life. |

veritek Joined: January 28th, 2005 Posts: 3 | i'm a rifleman meself so i usually only squease off one shot a guy. w/o the crosshair its hard as hell for me to aim properly at close distances. from far off all i use are the ironsites anyways but it turns into a m*****acre when they get close up...dont know where to aim, especially if theyre moving, ya know? |

I like the stripper clip and the ammo+1 round reloading (nice work).
If you're trying for realism, take a page from the Day of Defeat or Red Orchestra rule books. Make reloading more Battlefield style: reload with ammo in mag and lose the ammo. Also, remove the ammo counter from the screen except tell the player how many magazines he/she has but not ammo in the mag.
Besides this, the mod looks AWESOME! |

I guess that the code is hidden some where deep, and I won't be able edit it with out good coding skills, which I don't have. |

veritek Joined: January 28th, 2005 Posts: 3 | well its not exactly a real life scenario, sitting and staring at a computer screen, using a mouse to look around and fire, is it. i asked a simple question on getting back the crosshairs, not for some loser to make smart*****ed comments and comparissons on how a $40 pc game is the same thing as going into a field and firing weapons with your own eyes and hands. if you cant answer my question, dont respond. simple enough kiddies.
again, excellent mod. totally brought a new life to the expansion as the one for the original cod did. |

I remember something like that, but not 100% sure.
And #19:
What weapon are you talking about? And also keep in mind that you cant see the ammo inside the clip (I do not mean some überspecial clips that other side shows ammo inside, a common *****ault rifle clip), so usually you shoot it empty before you reload, unless you count each single time you shoot. |

When launched, I was starting the COD basic training! I then removed the mod I was playing in COD (which was BTCOD 1.7). Went to COD:UO, installed theBTCOD-UWS mod,as per the Read Me File,(option #2) and all worked as it should!! It's a super mod ! Many thanks people for all of your time and effort that went into the making of this great mod. It Rocks!! |

And yes there were 20-round and 30-round Thompson mags, the 20-round mags were mostkly used for the invasion of Jaopan though...
