Description:

Here's a sweet new utility out for multi-player clients, the first one of its kind. smile

It's simple in use: You just have it running in the background all the time and monitoring a particular server. Then, whenever a player enters or leaves the server, you get a little message box in the system tray area telling you so. wink

Additionally, you can have it play a sound notification along with the message if you're away from the computer and want to know what's going on. Anyway, as you can see, this is pretty much a brand new idea and a nicely done tool to make it happen, so if it sounds interesting to you, download this great utility today! Two Thumbs Up!

	Readme File: Utility: COD2 Player Notifier 1.0 Author: Marcus Oldin Nick: Spouse Requirements: Windows platform (tested on XP only) with .NET Framework 2.0 installed. Description: This utility automatically monitors the (COD2)server of your choice and notifies you when a player enters or leaves the server. The notification consist of balloon-popup with an extra sound-notification option for when you want to play but are afk. Installation: Unzip to a directory of your choice. Usage: Start the application by running the file ServCheck.exe First use: Be sure to right-click the ServCheck icon and change the settings to monitor the server of your choice. When the settings are done the application will notify you whenever a player joins or quits the monitored server. Licensing information: This program is free software; you can redistribute it and/or modify it under the terms of the GNU General Public License as published by the Free Software Foundation; either version 2 of the License, or (at your option) any later version. The truth is that its nice made, but to tell you if its usefull, when you host a server, you can see see it in your console (if it appears, sometimes it will only put you in game) and when you play you just notice it anyway when some1 joins.

So i got to say 1/10 because it isnt actually usefull but also 10/10 for the idea but i dont vote because i dont know what to vote myself.... confused

I do not intend to be the devil's advocate but on the majority of the servers the players who are afk or in a spectator mode during a certain time are kicked. I don't think that the owners of servers provide slots for afk players! You can be sure that on our servers ( 8 ) we don't tolerate afk's more than 5 minutes.

Great Tool, only comment I have is about the used TS wav. files.

Nice to have feedback from ya guys! I will definately change the soundfiles when updating, as well as a bug in the settings-section (today you have to restart the program to actually start monitoring another server).

I myself host my server on another computer, and the server is small (between 0 and 10 players on). That way I can see when someone enters the server, and if its cannon-fodder then I quit what I'm doin at the moment and it's off to do some killing wink

I wouldnt use my tool on BIG servers cause 1) I know there will always be players on, and 2) I would quickly get tired of the balloons and sound constantly playing.

Any ideas on how to make 1.1 more useful to ya? Suggestions greatly appreciated.
