	Readme File: Readme - Demo Recorder.txt Hey guys! G!zmo here! Just unzip the demo.cfg and the autoexec_mp.cfg into C:\Program Files\Call of Duty\Main press X to execute demo.cfg and then press [ to start recording a demo, when you start to record a demo you will say: demo activated when you deactive the demo in order to stop recording you will say demo deactivated and the demo will stop recording. ________________>seeing your demos<________________ To watch your demo after you have recorded them, well your demos will always be called demo0000.dm_1 demo0001.dm_1 demo0002.dm_1 and so on by default, so say i wanted to watch demo0002 i would type this in the console: /demo demo0002.dm_1 and for demo0001 /demo demo0001.dm_1 and so on and so fourth for ALL of the demos that you make =) ________________>DEMO SIZE<________________ Demos can be as long as you want and can go on for hours! But be careful because demos can be up to 4MB big for just 15 minutes! The lower your resolution and general texture the less space demos will take up. i extracted the files into the directory, but what does "press X to execute demo.cfg" mean

Ok to make it work extract the autoexec.cfg and the demo.cfg into your
C stick out tongue

and then press the ] button on your keyboard to stop recording a demo!
if that doesn't work.......
then...
1. I'm busted and dead by everyone else who downloads this file stick out tongue

2. Type in the console: (to goto console press the button left of 1 with these symbols on:

and type in the following:

/exec demo

and then press the [ button on your keyboard to start recording a demo!
and then press the ] button on your keyboard to stop recording a demo!

If THAT doesn't work me stumped stick out tongue

i tried what you said to do but it still doesnt work. do you know if this wont work if another script is already there? i have the "FrameRate Toggle."

The game already has this function, the command in console is /record and then to stop I believe you type /stoprecord.

this thing is really cool.....exact quality of what you play with and takes up hardly any space on the hard drive. any way to convert to .mpeg?

I cant belive i write a script 2 months ago so ya can record ingame lol and its only just been released bye some1 here lol, and i havent found a way to convert

Like, how can you? So then you can just watch them in AVI or whatever format, so that you don't have to load the game in order to watch them? Is this possible?

You just press in console /record
/stoprecord.
If i were u id do them both then pres sthe up arriow when u wanna record and press the up arrow again (in console) to stop quickly or else it hears u typing...
its not tha good though u can do it your self.

I did it myself, and when i tried to watch it it said it couldn't play cause it was a listen server! ! ?????????????? confused

so how do you convert to .avi or .mpeg? does this actually record what it shows on screen? a friend said these only record vector data and cannot be converted to any video format.

Okay, I'd like to set a few things straight

If you record something in COD4 with this program or the /record command, COD records the movement, it does not capture anything from the framebuffer, like Fraps and GameCam do. That's why these dm_1 files are quite small, and that's why you have to load COD4 to view these files.

Answer: No, there is no direct way to convert these dm_1 files to avi or mpg. If a program would, it should first run the game, and with the demo file draw the environment and player with their movement, render it, and capture that from the framebuffer, wich would have exact the same idea as Fraps and GameCam.

So, if you want to convert any dm_1 files to avi or mpg, first run the demo wile a screen recorder is running, then you have your avi file, and that's something you CAN convert.

I hope that's enough, for now. And no, I do not mail it to anyone, thought that was the idea of a forum.
