Bjusterbaarlik From: (Leeuwarden) Joined: May 29th, 2004 Posts: 31 | Cool, but you should have translated game type into speltype. Same goes for killcam, should be translated to moordcamera or something. That would be funny and it would be proper Dutch ofcourse. |
jslavenburg From: (Oud-Beijerland) Joined: June 10th, 2005 Posts: 181 | I did translate everything, including gametype and killcamera. It works fine for me  |

O well, euhm...I did change it ingame tho, it works fine there
If you find more bugs, please e-mail them to joshua.slavenburg@gmail.com and I will fix them |
Borriesz From: Joined: May 20th, 2005 Posts: 180 | Haha, I'm Dutch aswell, but so do I prefer the game in English. Reason: Dutch just doesn't look that cool in games Check out the word "vernietiging", "Destroyed .." -something- looks better Maar om het kort te houden, goed gedaan! Good job sounds better too LOL!

I wish the Russian army would speak RUSSIAN or Ukrainian (If in United offensive we played a level in Kharov, a city in Ukraine) and not English like in the game.
What you can do, joshua, in united offensive the Dutch resistance speaks English-English and not Dutch, if you can, u should record yourself and script them to speak dutch in order to make everything realistic.
Another thing, did you notice that in the level in NL you have cliffs and mountains? NL has no mountains (except Limburg) and they sure have no cliffs! Something has to be done! A new patch to UO with dutch speaking dutchies, russian speaking russians and not mountains in NL |

Aeneas2020 Joined: January 18th, 2006 Posts: 316 | yeah i thought it was a bit strange seeing as Nl is sposed to be flat (having been there it is!) that it was so mountainous in UO...even though i speak english as my main language i'm all for the nationalities speaking proper languages it adds weight and realism to the game...good luck jslavenbury and keep up the great work! |
fullmetal From: (Wuustwezel) Joined: December 28th, 2004 Posts: 876 | I'd like to help, because "vernietiging" sounds so "babyish"..."destructie" is maybe better |
Tharulerme From: (Flevoland) Joined: November 30th, 2005 Posts: 1267 | Goed gedaan! Maar "3 resterend" zou beter klinken dan " nog 3 te gaan"....
Ook had je beter de titels van de missies NIET kunnen veranderen.
Maar ja, vrij goed gedaan dus een 9 hiervoor
Translation: Nice done! But "3 resterend" would look better then "nog 3 te gaan".
Also you could better NOT change the titels of the missions.
Anyway, not bad done, so a 9 for this |
Bjusterbaarlik From: (Leeuwarden) Joined: May 29th, 2004 Posts: 31 | I disagree. I think you should translate everything including the titles of the missions. Just make it all Dutch, try to refrain from using English words or expressions.
And to #10:
I think that in the game's context, "vernietiging" does sound better, mainly because "destructie" is more of a scientific term of it. |

Tharulerme From: (Flevoland) Joined: November 30th, 2005 Posts: 1267 | #12 if he would make dutch titels then dutch people will think like what the (...).
Believe me, to make it smooth let the titels of the map's just stay english. |
Translation:
JS, there are many wrong speld words in it, and some things arent right, i want to help you by a v2, but i can only help with translating.
2 Examples of wrong speld words:
1 Gewond"EN" in actie, it is Gewond in actie (wounded in action)
2 "C"Het oversteken van de Rijn, the C from the english titel "Crossing the Rhine" stil stands there. |
MOD_KG9_NL From: Joined: March 15th, 2006 Posts: 32 | nice translated, but i still like it better in English which gives a better feeling.
Perhaps you should think of making maps for cod2 in the Netherlands with our own Dutch army speeking Dutch like things from Marketgarden I believe was Dutch
if you do I think I can make good sounding war-Dutch and maybe my friend wants to help make the Russian speech change into real Russian. |
robrecht88 From: Joined: March 1st, 2006 Posts: 391 | Sorry, maar ik vind het echt slecht vertaald. Is het met babelfish gedaan? Het werkwoord "hergroepen" ken ik niet, het "sterke punt" klinkt echt lullig en "de As-mogendheden's" is toch maar een rare constructie!
Wel een goed idee, met een beetje werk aan de vertaling kan je hier werkelijk een goeie mod van maken! Hou het goede werk op! |
