Walther P-38

Name: Walther P-38
Version: 2.1 (Torr3); beta modified (MCh2207Cz)

Game: Call Of Duty 2
Type: Unofficial SP and MP Modification

This little modification brings you the German sidearm pistol Walther P-38. It is SP and MP friendly and it replaces the Luger. Enjoy!
1) It is a modified version of Torr3's Walther P-38 with his permission.
2) I know I have said that it will be be in 1024x1024 pixels but I have found that Torr3's model has some kind of resolution filther in it so you cannot see the difference between the 1024 and 512 pixels. This modification contains the 512 pixel resolution skin. If there is some higher version of Torr3's model I can try it with the 1024 pixel skin.

Great thanks to Torr3 he has given me a permission to reskin and modify his stuff. And here it is!
But due to some internal model restriction the result is not as good as I wanted it. But nothing is perfect...

I do not mind if you use my part of stuff my only request is to be mentioned in the credits.
I cannot speak for Torr3's so you have to ask him.

A) Drag and drop installation
Put *.iwd file(s) into your "Call Of Duty 2Main" folder.

B) Mod folder installation

1)SP installation
-Create a new folder in "Call of Duty 2" folder and name it for example "waltherp38".

-Extract the *.iwd mod file(s) into the new folder "waltherp38".

-Enter the "Call Of Duty 2Main" folder and copy the "Players" folder.

-Paste the "Players" folder into the new folder "waltherp38".

-Create a new start-up shortcut to your Call o Duty 2 single player on your desktop or whereever from you start the game.

-Rightclick the shortcut and go to "Properties".

-In the "Target" section you will see: "...Call of Duty 2CoD2SP_s.exe".

-Behind "CoD2SP_s.exe" you must paste this (including the spaces):

+set fs_game waltherp38

-Run the game through this new shortcut.

-WARNING TO SP USAGE: If you would continue an autosaved game from before you have not installed this modification it will not work. You have to start a new game or mission.

2)MP installation
-It is the same but the shortcut will be for multi player game.
-So instead of "CoD2SP_s.exe" there will be "CoD2MP_s.exe" in the target.

You will have 2 shortcuts set up for modification: one for MP one for SP.

A) Drag and drop uninstallation
Delete *.iwd file(s) from your "Call Of Duty 2Main" folder.

B) Mod folder uninstallation
Remove the folder and shortcuts.

Hey, sorry this is not about your gun skin model, but its rocks! Rock 10/10!

Question: The pic you posted of a german afrika officer sitting in the back of the truck... the helmet, what skin is it from? The WCP mod or the the other similar mod? Can ypu please tell me?

Well the helm is a reworked "Pascal's Afrika Korps Skins" color map with my bumps and specs and a few minor changes (insignia). The officers uniform is a modified officer's skin color map from "WCP" with my bumps and specs and some changes (magazine pouches, insignia, rank system, pistol holster, ...).

I CANNOT submit these files to filefront cause I have forgotten almost all the authors whose work I was using as a base. And it is quite a while so it would be complicated to contact them...frown

If you can work with maya 6.0 download a program called xmodelexporter
This utility can convert cod (1, uo, 2, 4, 5) xmodel files to *.obj wavefront format that can be opened in maya 6.0 and then exported to cod2 using the cod2 tools (cod2 tools work only with maya 6.0).
BTW xmodelexporter is a powerful skin utility as well - it shows polygon areas on skins for you wink

To war crimes, wait do you mean the panther tank? If so it would look rather odd wouldn't it? I don't think panther tanks entered into the desert campaign, but whatever floats your boat.

But to MCh2207Cz,
da*n, you made a "hot" looking skin for the p38, it looks great Two Thumbs Up!
You even added in the p38's own pick-up sign, wicked man Rock
10/10, sigh* i wish i could learn how to use maya

To #7 the panzer mk5 is the one in call of duty 1they used it in the desert near the end of the battle and in stalingrad. i hate the tank missions in call of duty 2 because the british tanks and the sherman tank had longer range then the panzer mk2 so it doesnt make sence that you have to get up close to them to take them on. Now if they were the mk5 german tanks then that would be a different.

I think you have misunderstand me. "Pascal's Afrika Korps Skins" is the name of the file that was submitted to filefront in the past and "Pascal" is the author. You can download his original file from here:
But as I said I have modified his color map to my taste...

If you give me some time I can submit some of my older skins from beginning of my skinning of course improved a little bit wink

To war crimes,

ah there we go, when you were saying mk 5 i was confused (that was panther tank), but yes the mk 4 definitly saw action in desert campaign, My knowledge of what tanks the Afrika Korps used is very limited, i'm basically guessing due what i've used on the mod FH. They would've (i'm guessing here so don't quote me) had the early panzer mk 4 with both the short cannon, and the longer cannon (yah i don't even know the names of the cannons used on the mk4) but neither of them recieved the skirt armour in the desert campaign (later in the war). I think its possible for a crusader to take on an early mk 4, espeically if its the later mk III crusdater equipped with the 6 pounder. (2 pounder i'm not sure). But for in my opinion and perspective, i would like to see someone model the panzer mk3 for the tank missions, i think the afrika korps used mk 3 as their main tank, and it seems more on par with the crusader, seems to me like a worthy battle (but again don't quote me on this.)

Yeah! You've got it! Panzer III would be very welcome. But when talking about German tanks it is quite important to define the version. German vehicles used the nomenclature "Ausfuhrung" ("designation" in English) plus the letter A,B,C,...

The Africa theatre saw mostly the versions Pzkpfw III Ausf G (Tp.) and Pzkpfw III Ausf L (Tp.) Both models were specially issued for tropical weather (Tp. = "Tropisch" - "Tropical" in English).

Pzkpfw III Ausf G (early, front+side+rear 30mm armor, 3,7cm KwK36 L45 or 5cm KwK38 L42)
Pzkpfw III Ausf L (late, front 70 side 30 rear 50mm armor, 5cm KwK39 L60)

BTW I recommend this site it's great source of info, it has really detailed technical data and drawings as well:

Can you make a panzer mk 3 for call of duty 2 because i reall hate the panzer mk 2. Plus could you change the stuka to the ME109 and the FW condor to the HE111 both planes are in CODUO.

I said that I cannot use maya, but I can at least try. But definitely not the panzer III - too many tags - ask Torr for this. I will try Me109 or FW condor but I don't promise anything!
