Description:

Mr. Ifafudafi is back from a long skinning vacation and has a brand new skin for us. A very nice looking ppsh skin, what I really like about this skin is the black metal and how well it contrasts with the wooden stock. Also, the DX 7 pictures look just as good as the DX 9 version, so even with a less powerful computer, you can still get a nice view of this skin. 	Readme File: Mr. Ifafudafi's Hi-Res PPSh Skin Well, I'm back from an extended modding/skinning vacation, and to start off my work again I've put together a PPSh skin for y'all to enjoy. As usual, it features new wood, redone metal, and revamped specular/bump maps. To install, place the IWD inside your Call of Duty 2/main directory. To uninstall, remove it. Have fun!

Hmm, I don't like it to be honest.. Imo it just looks like the stock PPSH skin, but recoloured (not even made higher res...).

Follow the method of previous skinners, how they made "high res skins"...
It's even good if you just make the stock skin high res, and work out the details.

Also, try to make all your textures yourself... not just recolouring.

Don't take this as negative commenting ... this is constructive criticism! smile

Although the metal was (admittedly) recolored, I did add a few hi-resolution additions besides the sharpen tool, and although it may not be noticeable, the wood is an entirely new texture, not the stock one. The actual DDS file is also 1024x1024, whereas the stock one is 512x512. The metal was simply enlarged, but the wood was placed after the size increase.

Still, I do apprecatie the criticism. It's much more helpful than "lol tht sucks" or even "omg good skin."

Have you seen a real Ppsh? The wood is not that bright... it's very dark red, actually. That's what killed it for me, the brightness. I suggest making another version with the real dark red, in high res.

Metal 9/10 - looks great, but been done before

Wood 6/10 - looks alright, not very realistic

Wood from weapons differ ALOT... there are even mausers with really bright wood ...

But my personal preference is mostly dark wood (oak or some sorts).
