eXtreme sniper (1.1) - File Description  


Description:
Sniper zoom mod that works with eXtreme+

Right i had an email about the eXtreme+ sniper mod 1.0 and that it had a few problems.

* When a player zoomed in and out a lot they started to lag forcing them to leave the server
* Console error on line 378 relating to "wait 0.001;" (this what cause players to lag as far as i can tell)
* Gold Desert eagle had an over lay that i forgot to remove

i have fixed these issues and added background menu music

We run this mod on our server, of course with a few things extra

REQUIRES
--------

Call Of Duty Modern Warfare v1.5 (should work on 1.4)

1.0 FEATURES
------------

1) Normal eXtreme features - edited the menu text and removed the anoying music
2) 1x - 34x zoom on sniper rifles, [MELEE] = zoom In, [FRAG] = zoom out
3) improved range and power on sniper rifles
4) Rifles and pistols will not penertrate

1.1 FEATURES + CHANGES
----------------------

1) Gold Desert Eagle no longer has a scope overlay
2) removed any code within the sniper_zoom script not realting to the sniper rife zoom
3) Sorted the players ping issue relating to error on line 378
4) Added one of the sniper scape tracks as the background menu music
5) Improved readme

THINGS TO NOTE
--------------

* the "wait 0.001;" is now on line 339 and might still show up in console on a few odd ocations but will not cause players to lag or crash the server
(Note of you decide to remove that line to fix the error the zoom will not work, but like i said it shouldnt be a problem anymore)

* the headshot sound will not work on sniper rifles as they actually fire grenades, it was the only way to get them to reach across the larger distance sniper maps (fixing this is on my to do list)

HOW TO INSTALL
--------------

* extract eXtreme_sniper_1.1
* add it to the CoD4 Mods folder
* add to the sevrers command line: "+set fs_game mods/eXtreme_sniper_1.1 +exec server.cfg +map_rotate"
* Play & Enjoy
* To remove the background sound and music from the mod just open the iwd file and delete
- bg_fogscroll.iwi from the images folder (would be nice if you left this but it dosnt really bother me)
- hgw_gameshell_v10.mp3 from the sound/music folder

HOW TO RUN A LAN SERVER (windows)
---------------------------------

* extract eXtreme_sniper_1.1
* add it to the CoD4 Mods folder
* Create a shortcut of the game on your desktop
* right click / propities and add "+set fs_game mods/eXtreme_sniper_1.1 +exec server.cfg +map_rotate +set dedicated 1" (no quotes) to the end of the target

example below

Target: "E:Call of Duty 4" +set fs_game mods/eXtreme_sniper_1.1 +exec server.cfg +map_rotate +set dedicated 1

* If you only have 1 game profile this will create a CoD4 lan server running the eXtreme+ sniper mod
* if you have more than 1 profile you will just have to create a lan server from within CoD4 (still create the desktop shortcut)

Yo guys i forgot to say in the read me that the config files have been set for a sniper only server, i.e. unused perks and weapons have been disabled.

map rotation is within the server config file

As always feel free to tear the mod apart and use it how you want

OK just got another email asking if this was for single player. The answer is NO, sorry i thought that it was obvious that this was a multi player mod.

It adds a zoom to the eXtreme+ mod.

Does [*PST*] Joker know you are re-releasing his mod like this? Personally think what you are doing is bs m8...customizing it for yourself and your servers is one thing but publishing x4 with your changes without permission is bs

Ok mr saint this s just for you

The original sniper mod was downloaded from

the original developer of that mod was unkown. it didnt even work anyway. i fixed the error and improved a few things here and there and uploaded it again. i was then asked to make it work with extreme which i didnt have time to. so i didnt. i did however as the extreme guys how to add headshots sounds and other bits, they told me just to use the extreme mod. so i did. i then had to make the zoom work with extremem which i eventually got round to doing it. as and a knew other people wanted a decent sniper mod i then reuploaded the extreme version.

see there, no harm done to anyone.

if the develpoer of the original mod emails that that was his work it will then credit them if.So far i havent had an email or complaint from the original developer or the extreme support crew. all files inthe mod do still credit extreme and say that i just added the sniper zoom bit and weapons.

if extreme or the oruginal developer whoever that is complains to me then i will ofcourse delete the files.

if however you are not the the original developer or the extreme support guys STFU and stoping moaning
