The Call of Duty Series:

Is Call of Duty its own series?
Kinda, its is own brand of game. (i.e. Medal of Honor, Unreal, etc...)

What other Call of Duty games are there?
Call of Duty's expansion: United Offensive, Call of Duty 2, Call of Duty 4, Call of Duty: World At War, numerous others for PS3, Wii, Xbox 360 and Nintendo DS.

Are there going to be any other Call of Duty games?
Yes. Modern Warfare 2 is due out this November.

Is Infinity Ward going to be doing all the new games?
Possibly, or with Treyarch (as with CoD3 and WaW).

Will they all be First Person Shooters?
So far, they all are.

Call of Duty, The Game:

What is this game?
Call of Duty is a first person shooter which puts you in the middle of WWII.

When did this game come out?
Fall 2003.

Is there a training missions?
Yes.

What do you do in Call of Duty?
There are three campaigns: American, British, and Russian. You fight as three different soldiers, each in their own country, from all the way in Normandy to Berlin.

Are these campaigns connected at all?
Yes.

How many levels are in the game?
24. Give or take a few here and there.

Is it true that you get to play in different Army's?
Yes. You get to fight for the Americans, the Russians, and the British.

Who do you play as?
You play as three different people during the different campaings.

What weapons do you use?
Like Medal of Honor and other like games, you will get a full variety of weapons to beat the game with. See the weapons page for more details.

Does each campaign have a new set of weapons?
Yes. Again, see the weapons page for more details.

Who do you fight?
The German army.

Do you get to use real WWII weapons?
Yes. For the last time, check the weapons page for details.

Do the weapons have alternative fire modes?
Like the game “America’s Army”, you will be able to use the scope for more accuracy. You can also ADS (aim down the sights) on all of the weapons.

How realistic is this game?
Compared to nowadays, not very. But for 2003, it was way ahead of it's time.

Does Call of Duty have blood?
A little.

Were do you travel? Or what are some of the locations?
All through Europe.

Can you command a squad of guys in this game?
No. But you will be part of a squad a lot of times.

I read a lot of war stuff and this/that is not 100% realistic? Why?
For the sake of gameplay, many things have to be dropped for the sake of balanced gameplay.

Can I quick Save/Load?
Yes.

Are there weather effects?
Not really. There are a few snow effects, but nothing major.

Can I control Mounted Machine Guns and Anti Aircraft guns and stuff?
Mounted machine guns? Yes. Anti-aircraft guns? On certain levels you can.

Can I drive a tank?
Yup.

Can I fly a plane?
No. Sorry.

Were can I get some cheats?
See the cheats page (singplayer only).

Will Call of Duty have a third person view?
No.

Will the environment be destructable?
No.

Can I play Call of Duty online?
Of course. What would be a first person shooter without it?

How many maps come shipped with the game?
Unkown.

Is there BOT support?
There are a whole slew of mods that add bots, but they are dumb as a doorpost.

Will Call of Duty use the standard 'class' system?
No.

Is multiplayer free?
Yes.

What multiplayer game types are available?
Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Search & Destroy, Headquarters, Retreival, Behind Enemy Lines.

Is there a co-op mode?
No.

How many people can play in one Multiplayer game?
64.

Can I play Call of Duty over a LAN?
Yes.

Will there be a SDK?
Yes and no. There is a map maker called Radiant, check the downloads section for that. Other than the map creator, you only need Notepad and a zip maker such as WinRar.

Can we make new maps with out the official tools?
Yup.

Were can I learn how to mod the game?
Hopefully some tutorials will be released near the game’s launch.

Yes.

Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows 2000, and Windows XP.

What engine does Call of Duty use?
A highly updated version of the Return to Castle Wolfenstein Engine.

Does this mean it will look like Return to Castle Wolfenstein?
No, the game engine is being heavily modified.

What version do DirectX do I need?
You don't. Call of Duty runs under OpenGL.
