Is Call of Duty its own series?
Kinda, its is own brand of game. (i.e. Medal of Honor, Unreal, etc...)

What other Call of Duty games are there?
Call of Duty's expansion: United Offensive, Call of Duty 2, Call of Duty 4, Call of Duty: World At War, numerous others for PS3, Wii, Xbox 360 and Nintendo DS.

Are there going to be any other Call of Duty games?
Yes. Modern Warfare 2 is due out November 10th of this year.

Is Infinity Ward going to be doing all the new games?
As of late, IW and Treyarch have been switching off as developers. CoD3 was developed by Treyard, CoD4 by IW, WaW by Treyarch, and so on. Our only guess is that they would continue to do this.

What genre are these games?
FPS (First-Person Shooters).

What setting do the games take place in?
Call of Duty, its expansion United Offensive, 2 and World at War all take place in during WWII. World at War is the only CoD game to include fighting in the Pacific between the US and the Japanese. CoD4 and the up coming Modern Warfare 2 are the only ones to take place in a current day and age.

What campaigns are there?
In Call of Duty there are three campaigns: American, British and Russian. You fight as three different soldiers all the way from Normandy to Berlin. In United Offensive, it adds historic battles such as Kursk, the Invasion of Sicily, and the assaults in Belgium, to name a few.

Call of Duty 2 takes on a very similar role as its predecessor, you are once again fighting on three campaigns over many of the same places. It adds a few other battlefields like the British in North Africa, Americans at the Rhine river, and the actual assault on Normandy from the sea.

Call of Duty 4 brings a whole new style of gameplay to the series. It's modern-combat fighting a modern enemy. As with the previous games, you play as three different soldiers, but this time you are either a U.S. Marine, British SAS or Russian Speznaz against the terrorist group, OpFor. You fight in a wide variety of battlefields: from the Bering Sea (near Alaska) to the Middle East, Azerbaijan, Russia, and Ukraine. Even one mission has you scout as a sniper near Chernobyl.

World at War once again sets you back in WWII, although this time is quite different. You can play as the U.S. Marines in the Pacific or as Soviet soldiers on their way to Berlin. You fight along side tanks, shoot enemy convoys from airplanes (Hellcats) in the sky, and a whole lot more. This game is the most intense out of all the other games.

What kinds of weapons do they have?
Oh, too many to list.

In Call of Duty and Call of Duty 2 you have many weapons to choose from. There's the MP40, Kar98k, Thompson, PPSH, Bren gun, Sten, Mosin Nagant, M1Garand, just to name a few. United Offensive adds on new weapons such as carriable machine guns (DP-28, MG34, Browing 50 Cal) and drivable vehicles such as tanks and jeeps. World at War also has drivable vehicles and various other trinkets such as booby-traps and the like.

Call of Duty 4 brings modern weapons to the table. The AK47, MP5, M4, M16, R700, G3, SAW, RPG and so much more. Not only that, but Call of Duty 4 and World at War add on "perks" which allow you to set up your own classes of weapons. One could be a sniper class where you are silent, but deadly, another could be a no holds barred assault class. Pretty much anything you can think of.

What kids of perks are there?
In Call of Duty 4 and World at War they add many perks. CoD4 features perks like "Dead Silence", which makes it so that you walk quieter than normal, "Deep Impact", which makes bullet penetration through walls even more damaging, "Overkill", a perk that allows you to carry two primary weapons, and so much more. It's just hard to list all of them.
