The German Front Mod Dev Team never ceases to amaze me with their large-scale updates and ground-breaking material. I'm proud to have done what I could to contribute long, long ago, even if they clearly aren't in need of my services anymore. This update is pretty darn cool, so make sure you read it all below, then see the corresponding screenshots underneath!

We've got great news from our multi-player team. Many of you might be thinking, "Multi-player?" Yes, the "Mini-GFM" is back! Why multi-player now? This is a very easy answer: The community wanted it! It's been a long time, since we've had news about this. But now we will release all of what we missed. The next version of GFM2-MP will be a full version. No collection of single .iwd files in your folders anymore. You'll have a clean CoD2 directory, compatibilty with the latest CoD2 patch and much more. So as you can see, the new GFM-MP will bring you many new features!
One of these features will be the two new gametypes: Domination, known from CoD: United Offensive, and Demolition. Exactly like in CoDUO, you have to take flags for the majority of the time to win the match. Here are some screens of DOM:
Most of you already know of Demolition, but for those who don't, it will work similiar to Search and Destroy. Demolition is a combination of the good old SD and Counter-Strike de_maps. Your objective will be to destroy two targets on the map. A player has to pick up some TNT, and only this player is able to destroy the targets.
But enough talk now. For DOM you need flags, and therefore you need new maps. This means that you will see some "old" GFM maps in GFM2. Here are some screens of the redone maps:
Besides that, we can show you some screenshots from our maps Atlantikwall by last_p and Hill 107 (Crete) by Ziegenbock. The maps aren't finished yet, and we're still in need of more developers.
But this is not all! The next MP release will include the brand-new "WFM" mod, developed exclusively for us over the past year by Wanna Gansoush. This "official" GFM add-on will give you a more realistic GFM game, highly customizable by way of CVar.
- Three new gametypes
- Domination (as in CoDUO)
- Demolition: Destroy targets with TNT
- Air Assault: derivative of Demolition; planes throw bombs you have to collect before the enemy (thanks to the -|HR|- Clan, especially -|HR|- Sniper)
- Conversions of good CoD2 maps
- Conversions of well-known original GFM maps (Cauquigny, Amfreville, Merderet River, St. Lo)
- better mobile-MG script
- fully compatible with the latest CoD2 patch
We didn't wanted to release a further MP part of the mod in the past, that's the reason for saying "Why Multiplayer now?".
Regarding the SP, we haven't canceled the SP part of the mod and we're still working hard on it but we haven't enough SP scripter to make a good progress at the moment. We will post news about it asap and we will hopefully be able to release the 1st SP campaign in the future. If anyone of you is able to work on SP maps and want's to help, just send us an email.

I beleive the COD MP mods have gone stale and I would love to see your full mod in action...I am currently using the AWE 3 beta 10 and it is stable and great but the new domination gametype would be great I loved that form UO...were would I find a full list of the deatures for the full mod?
There needs to be a couple of new weapons, like the carried .30 cal and the FG42. I look forward to seeing this mod, and some new weapons. But the weapons aren't everything, just a small suggestion. Even without them, it's still going to be great.

Great news. My clan is still running GFM version 2 for UO on our server.
I hope to see the MP version soon, not really worried about the SP, but would like to have a go.
Keep up the great work GFM team. You guys are doing some great things.
waiting more than a year just to eventually play a sp campaign that will give you a few hours of fun, while the mp mod remains unmodified. is probably what brought down the interest. i was a huge gfm fan on uo, but choosing to go sp instead of mp is what killed it for me... big shame

MP has always let you fight on the German side, so I don't see what the point is. It's just another mod. A good one with cool stuff no doubt but still just another MP mod. SP for me.
