* Fixed a voice chat crash on systems with no default recording device selected.
* Fixed an issue causing erroneous duplicate qport errors.
* Server admins can disable team switching by setting g_allow_teamchange to 0. Players will be restricted to Auto-Assign in team-based gametypes.
The team is just putting the finishing touches on it before sending it off to QA for testing. No ETA is planned yet, but I’ll update when I get better clarity on its progress.

Depends on what the bunker was made of. If it was made of metal or anything that conducts electricity, I wound just sit outside and use a tesla weapon to electrocute the 40 terrorists.
On the other had, if I could get in unnoticed, I wound pour water on all of the floors and cut a wire that was still plugged in... You can guess what happens next.

Call of Duty 6 Modern Warfare 2 News
Fourzerotwo was on there BASH webcast yesterday morning and he had a few surprises for the PC community.
Here are the snippets:

We're doing a lot on the backend to make the game accessible for everyone.

There is no delay for the PC version of MW2
*
There's prestige mode
*
Jason West at the MP event, said that he was dead on, on the matchmaking servers. We've been building a system on the backend called IW.NET.
*
You are completely reliant on IW.NET. There are no server lists. There are no dedicated servers.
*
You have private matches where you can customize the game
*
You cannot put MW2 on a dedicated server.
*
This is the first time we've ever done something like this and the team has huge plans for what IW.NET develops into.
*
Customizing your game...you have quite a few options in a private match
*
You're getting same game (as in Console), plus matchmaking and private match.
*
Server admin point-of view, NO DEDICATED SERVERS
To summarized some of Jockyitch's own thoughts from the cast here:
General
* IW partnering through Steam is what you will see in the future. Matchmaking is not through Steam, but IW.NET is run in conjunction with Steam.
* GSP's will no longer be renting out servers.
* No PunkBuster. VAC will be used as an anti cheat.
* Retail distribution: Pre-orders will get a disk. Or you could order from Steam.
* DLC may now need to be paid for - not confirmed.
* Piracy was only a small reason for going to IW.NET - not the whole reason.
Clans:
* No more clan servers. Private matches, replace clan servers.
* Listen servers will connect to each other.
* IW.NET/Steam will replace the community server admin
Competitive Gaming
* Competitive gaming has changed as we know it.
* It might be possible in the future for IW engineers to load a "competitive" setting on IW.NET, but it is far from a guarantee. It might also never happen.
Modding
* Modding the game is now very much in question. Fourzerotwo had no info on modding. However, it appears that there will be no community mods or maps for MW2.
* Modding in SpecOps? Unknown.

Gametrailers.com have just released a new video of Modern Warfare 2 showing us new multiplayer features and campaign sets that are just waiting be released to you and to be analysed. Here is the video by Gametrailers:
Captain Price will be featuring in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, according to his voice actor Billy Murray, he was flown in to LA to work on the game earlier on so hopefully we'll see the return of a prominent character in the first game. There is no official news on this, however only the actor has talked to Videogameszone and has said he was working on the game, I guess we'll only know for sure if Infinity Ward release it or until we buy the game.

Dawn of War: Dark Crusade Firestorm over Kronus mod
Finally, after working on it for over half a year, the FoK mod team presents you the latest, shiniest, best FoK release there has ever been. Firestorm over Kronus (FoK) is a modification for the Dawn of War RTS by Relic Entertainment. A closer-to-Tabletop gaming experience with modified gameplay, win conditions, models and tech trees. Introducing an Army Painter with randomised models (i.e. you won't see the same model twice if you view a unit more than once) - this feature is only partly implemented at this stage. An improved and extended UI that allow a truly Tabletop-range of squad choices, abilities and upgrades.

Neighborhood, or as the developer has also called it: Toys in the Hood 01, is due to the inspiration of a game called 'Re-Volt'. It's a little rusty, but it's a classic.

Star Wars Battlefront 2: Mos Eisley Spaceport
There's a lot to see here, and it is of course best summed up by simply downloading the map and trying it out. What's most interesting about this map is the talented blending of stock assets with custom assets (the map is populated by a majority of the latter, although most are so well-done you wouldn't guess it at first glance). You can walk into an innocuous small building and all of the sudden find yourself in an underground pathway leading to several hangars and walking you under a large part of the map (this part specifically was probably my favorite), such is the level of detail.

Fun. This is an old file that some of you may remember...it makes the hazard trooper, rocket trooper and Ragnos playable. Yes, Ragnos. You can play as Ragnos. Quite amusing, being able to float around as a ghost swinging your lightsaber. Even better still, I use the light side of the force, so testing this out in-game was even more awkward than ever. But even playing as Ragnos didn't protect me from Tavion's wrath. Stupid yawing NPCs...

Jedi Knight III: Vergil
Basically, Graves' Dante model has been reskinned into Vergil. Since they are twin brothers, the model is interchangeable between them - indeed, it looks good. The skinning work is well-done, too - the blue robes have some nice highlights/shadows. The vest looks very good as well. Everything seems as accurate as accurate gets.

This unusual variant with a lineage reaching back to the Ambassador Class. The unusual warp nacelle arc design, reminiscent of Vulcan tech. Is described by the Author as a LIght Escort. TMP era to the 2344 cr. Enterprise-C era.

Consoles are a waste of money, chances are you already need a computer anyways, so why not spend a little extra making it able to play games rather than buying a whole new system that the games are more expensive on anyways?
Correct, you heard it, we have CoD 6 Files! It's currently just going through the rendering process and that should take up to a day or so, hence, why I'm ironically posting the announcement of CoD6 Files in a CoD1 news category
Thanks to Goody and Jos (Pro-Filer) and of course all the upper staff, we now have a new game category, for the new game! Goody also pushed for CoD4/5 files to broken and they were fixed by our tech man, Pro-Filer so please all credit goes to them, nothing to do with me or the staff for this site, we've just pushed for things to be changed, but these guys actually did it.
We shall be adding some things to CoD6 Files, mostly moving news articles around and hopefully when the game comes out, we'll be ready for business and all guns blazing.
I am pleased to announce that that cod 4 and cod 5 files are now fixed as regarding adding files.
I will be sorting out the file catagories and moving the files we have on the site to there proper home. This will take a few days and once done I will alter the left menu to reflect there new positions on the site.
Within the next couple of hours from posting this the file catagories will be set up so you can submit files to there proper site. If you cannot find a file during this process then use the file browser but remember moving the files also means they will take a few minutes to resolve to there new location.
It is also with great pleasure to inform you all that cod 6 files is in the process of being set up for MW 2 and will be open shortly. Digz will make a official announcement about that as soon as it is ready for you lovely people.
Thanks for your understanding during these difficult times and rest assured that all the work being done on the whole network will be worth it when it is all finished.

Some of you may be wondering what happened to the Insider these last few weeks, well, I've been busier then usual with family visits and camping and other real life stuff...but, that was then, and this is now! Ensign Riles - Formally a SuperModerator for the Forums, Riles is the holder and collector of all information...if I had to guess, I would say that he is jealous of the interwebz and he is trying to out do it! Go ahead, ask him anything, I bet you he has a screenshot of it!
S.T.A.L.K.E.R - Like Riles, STALKER was formally a SuperModerator at the Forums as well, he is also the Site Admin for STALKERFiles, and a Network Admin here. STALKER is unigue, as he wishes with all his heart that he would have been born as a Canadian. I have never seen such an envious compulsion...it is to be commended!

The central point of my mod is the introduction of tank crews who gain experience that is used for tank enhancements like new features etc. So the crews gets VET and not the tank. If a crew survives a tank kill and you get them home you can simply reassign it to a new tank, so no gained combat experience is lost.

I hope this doesn't spoil any surprises but a video of the first mission has just been released on youtube and thought some of you would like to check the gameplay of it to maybe lean over one side of the fence to buy it or not.
I received an email yesterday night from thecheeseman saying that he was going to resign from the site. Before I let his reasons for him leaving go, I'd just like to say his service on this site for three whole years was something that a lot of staff haven't managed on sites all across the board. Three years of service shows a great deal of dedication and commitment to CoDFiles and it's community, myself, the CoDFiles team all owe him a great deal due to the effort, time and work he has put in to CoDFiles.
I may have only been at this site for a short time, but my 5 years here have all been great, apart from this being the worst with everything that's going on. I see staff members come and go when they're bored after a month, or even after a week. But thecheeseman has shown something that all Site Admins like to see, dedication to the community and to the site, his work here will never be forgotten and due to his retirement for the site, I will be creating a page with old staff on it starting from now, who have earned the respect of the community and have done a great deal for the site.
Before all of you jump out and say why you think he resigned (I hope he doesn't mind me telling you this) but he wants to go into a career in music, and now has a chance to do so, he wants to give it his full effort and I completely respect that decision and hopefully we'll be hearing his music in the charts one day, going double platinum
There was a issue with files being sent to us via the insite upload system. The issue was that some files seemed to not make it through to our ftp servers so we could not add them.
I am happy to report that even though some files still do this we are able to work around this small bug. The bug itself is currently being fixed but it does not effect you submitting your files in the normal way.
There are many reasons why you should use the upload system instead of the email. The main reason is you can set the file up your self. You can add your own description. readme and screenshots. The upload system also makes adding your files to the sites a lot easier for the staff and will usually result in them appearing on the sites quicker.
As always if you have any questions then let us know at network@filefront.com and we will answer them for you.
I hope you have not been too frustrated about the lack of files, I certainly have but all of the files I received on my personal email address which I gave out have all been added to the site. The file submissions are now back on track, we do not yet have a permanent fix, but we have a temporary work-around which is just a little more work for us but nothing more for you.
All you have to do is submit the files in the usual way, but clicking on the submit file link and follow the instructions, we will do the rest.
That's all for now, hopefully we can get a permanent fix to this and all the other problems we have, but rest assured our tech man, Pro-Filer, is doing everything he can. Otherwise, feel free to submit your files as normal, and let 'half - normal' service resume.
