  CoDFiles singleplayer mapping contest!!!!!!! - Site News

Hey everyone,

codfiles is having a singleplayer mapping contest, there will be two categories one for regular call of duty, the there will also be one for United offensive
The map should follow these guidelines :

- originality (new ideas, objectives, etc.)
- It is allowed to have new sounds, models, skins etc.
- The map does not have to be historically accurate you can make a fun map if you want

Just send the map to our regular inbox marked as "mapping contest" all maps must have a readme explaining the map and be in a zip file, all the maps will also be posted on the site to get a some community feedback.

The winner of each category will receive a special little prize, the deadline for when all maps must be in is the 10th of December.
So everyone get mapping!

Posts: 15 		Hmmm, I would like to enter but only 1 month to create a decent single player map? It takes 2 or 3 guys at a games company a few months to do each map and they work on it full-time, the entries will have to be small maps.

Because i'm actually thinking about putting my sp map in, it's almost completed and it's pretty good too, also can we release our maps while they're entered or what?

Posts: 15 		Well right now I am working on stuff for the Operation Market Garden mod, so I probably will not be able to enter. I would suggest getting this posted in the news section at iwnation and also .map and see what the user response is like. If nobody complains about the dealdline it's probably ok. I am under the impression that there are not many out there working on single player maps, but I do know of a few. Maybe they have maps that are already partly done they would like to enter?

Posts: 		well sorry then but you know, without even telling the prize and with such a short deadline AND with the unproffesional "look" I don't think i'll enter my map, there's too big a risk for me that this will end up like activision's mapping contest, not to mention that this contest doesn't have a very "'attractive' look, sorry but that's just the way it is.
