  The CoDFiles Promise - Site News

Since I (Digz) took over CoDFiles, in rather 'spectacular' fashion might I add, I hope that I have done what I intended to do, which was to make this site a modders/mappers site. By this, I mean to make sure all of the files and news that you submit are up within a certain amount of time and to make sure any suggestions that you give me are taken into consideration and implemented as soon as possible.

A new promise that I want to make to you, which I hope will continue for as long as this site exists, is a promise to make sure that all user submitted files and news are validated and uploaded to the site within 3 days (including weekends).

If I cannot submit a file within those 3 days you will be emailed explaining to you the situation with your file, but most likely I will simply contact a Network Administrator and they will have the file up as soon as they can.

So far I have been able to keep to a certain standard on files, but I constantly want to improve and make sure that this site works for you, and never the other way around.

If you have any suggestions that you think will make a good site addition or just a general comment, please do comment below or email me and I'd be happy to respond. You can email me at:

You are surely making a good job but I think the community ask for a little more. Files submitted should be available as soon as they are submitted or, at least the day following. Mappers, modders and scripters do like to see their stuffs posted in a short time and not have to come check, one, 2, 3 or more days later if the files are there.

Maybe you should hire more staff to help you. Also, the huge amount of important files that have been deleted last spring made the community mad about codfiles/filefront. A good thing would be to try to retrieve and add back those files.

If you want codfiles to be what it was before ( popularity and more used ):

1- add the files more rapidly ( on a daily base );
2- retrieve and add back important files deleted;
3- do not delete files submitted ( people are counting on you for their files ).

My 2 cents wink

Hey there FoXx2, thank you for the feedback smile

I'll try and answer your points as best as I can and try to justify this new 3 day rule as I guess I left it a little 'wide-open'.

This 3 day rule is a guarantee that your file will be posted within three days maximum. I check for files more than three times a day and most of the time I upload them on the day that they are submitted. The three day rule is a guarantee that if they are not uploaded on the day that you submit them, they will be done within three days, but I won't be automatically taking three days for every single file.

What files were deleted last spring? I wasn't admining CoDFiles last spring (only this spring), and I'd like to get those files back. A note to everyone: If you are a modder or mapper that had your file deleted last spring then please re-submit them again and I will have them up asap.

I'm guessing they were deleted because they were so old in the system due to FileFront going down and none of the staff could access the system so all files were deleted as the servers were moved.

To your last point, files are no files are deleted straight away, they are only deleted if they have a serious breach of copyright, I have only ever deleted 2 files from the CoDFiles submitted files que (without asking them to re-submitted because the zip/rar file was corrupt).

As for hiring more staff, I'm already on that and writing up a news post for vacancies smile

Thank you for your feedback and I hope I answered your questions to your satisfaction. If anyone else has any ideas/questions, please feel free to comment or email me.

Lol I think that's a no brainer Reaper stick out tongue

I have a better idea for the next poll, a clue: It's something that WaW had that IW doesn't put in.

I think you're doing pretty good with the site, I like Filefront because you don't have to sign up to download files. Thanks.
