It was wrong of the first person who started the big argument (now deleted) to criticize the importance of Pointe du Hoc, regardless of what 'facts' there may be, simply on the grounds that it was rude, inappropriate, and off-topic. Furthermore, he hastily generalized an entire country of millions in a negative manner under a single quality, and that obviously doesn't make any sense.

Naturally, while reprimanding this guy for what he posted, plenty of people came to the defense of reality, logic, history, and honor. However, there were still more who posted against this sort of common sense, including one who questioned the overall significance of World War II -- just people shooting each other over a "petty issue," he called it. Obviously, this one has no grasp on history either.

To anyone here who is acquainted with reality, I'm sorry you had to endure the thoughtless stupidity of those comments. This 'discussion' got way too out of hand, though, so it must stop now.
